URGENT:
FIRE DESTROYS HOME FOR PREGNANT WOMEN.
Tempe, Ariz. -- Dec. 31, 2008 -- The Magdalene Home was damaged by fire last night, 12/30/09. Red Cross volunteers arrived at the scene to help meet the immediate needs of six women with infants, two pregnant women and three staff members. The Red Cross ensured everyone had a safe place to sleep and provided the victims with the means to obtain food and other essentials.
But we still need your help:
We are having a down and dirty work Saturday this weekend form 8-noon to do what we can to have the house ready to be worked on. We can only handle about 30 helpers. We would request no children and people who are ready to get a bit dirty. If they have a pickup truck, even better.
- Room
sponsorship. At this point, we are going to do have to redo the rooms
and make the women and their children feel welcomed again. So, we are
hoping for room sponsors.
- We have 7 bedrooms
- Living Room
- Office (computers, desk, fax machine, etc)
- Bathrooms (shower curtains, fixtures, etc)
