Weekly Meeting October 11, 2007

Call to Order: This meeting was called to order at 8:00 am by President Martha O’Connor.

Announcements: Next Weeks Acting President will be Dr. Ben Eubank.

Ron and Ben will deliver a foundation report next week.

Club members should be looking at finding high school sophomores to send to RYLA April 27-29^th.

Need places for international guests to stay 3-4 days as they come in for a conference at ASU. They are all environmental engineers that deal with water related issues.

Susan Seats announced that she isleaving the club to take care of her father in California.

Patrick announced that there are 14schools with 7000 kids, 4000 military families.

Scottsdale 17 schools are doing a toy drive and 28000 small gift toys and 400 hours of volunteers. This will touch 18,000to 20,000 kids. Has a budget of about $850,000.

Needs: Ice, waste management, pod that can store toys in (50,000 – 60,000). Need a storage area. Need miniature Christmas lights. Need 5 Rotary, 5 Lions and 5 Kiwanis clubs to each get involved for $500. each.

Bonnie reports that she and Dave went down and visited Father Bill at the Ande House. They are in desperate need of men’s clothing, shoes, back packs, etc.
