TODAY’S SPEAKER: Andrea Beaulieu, Your Authentic VoiceTM
Midlife is more than an age it is a new journey. At midlife we look for wholeness and authenticity, we try to find the things we left behind. How do we get
through the process of change? By finding our authentic voice to find our greatest gifts and our authentic self. Some people call it” intuition”. You can learn to create the ability to have that happen. How do we access our “inner brilliance”? It isn’t new. Gandhi: “You must be the change you want to see in the world.” Lilly Tomlin said “ I always wanted to be someone, but I should have been more specific”.
Becoming your authentic self is a synthesis if things learned over the years, grounded in creativity. Just things that work and they take practice. Michael Gelb, author of “How to think like Leonardo da Vinci, talks about the “smarter part of the brain, we need to learn to access it.
There are three (3) practices to find your inner voice
1. Get into the present, focus on here and now, your voice exists in the present. Be fully here and now, be in the moment.
2. Do you know what you want? Ask yourself ”what is my intent?” What do I want for myself and my relationships? What beliefs prevent me from getting there? Accept what you need to accept. Visualize the outcome.
3. Try new things, shift out of normal and “stir the pot”. Get out of normal, allow yourself playtime that is where our creativity lives.
These 3 steps help you move with the energy. Andrea Beaulieu works with companies and does personal coaching in person. She has a daily “Ah Hah” on her website: www.yourauthenticvoice.com
There is a product called a “Creative Whack Pack” that has cards that give ideas for change, playtime available at v:rtvak/microbusinesses.
Adjournment:
President Terry Mickelson adjourned the meeting at 8:05 A.M.
Andrea drew the winning raffle ticket number belonging to Sue Strebe who upheld the tradition of being an unlucky loser drawing the 3 of clubs. Now We are down to only about 6 cards left in the deck and the winning Queen of hearts is still hanging in the remaining cards, Sue checked. Maybe next week we will have a winner.
